The RCN Clinical Leadership Programme will develop your leadership skills using a bespoke coaching framework.

About this programme

This programme has been designed for future clinical leaders in the NHS, independent sector and social care organisations working at Level 6 and 7 or equivalent.

On this programme, you will:

  • Develop your clinical leadership skills by leading a service improvement project in your workplace
  • Learn the most effective way to manage change in the clinical environment 
  • Experience coaching as a supportive development tool and understand how to coach colleagues.

Clinical Leadership Programme for health care organisations

Your organisation will send one or more representatives to an RCN residential, where they will train to become an approved RCN Clinical Leadership Programme facilitator.
 
Your representative(s) will be awarded a license to deliver the programme to up to 20 individuals per year (recommended delivery time is 10-12 months). An RCN Associate Consultant will support them to deliver this.
 
Cost: £10,300 + VAT*
 
*Price includes: residential course, license, RCN Associate Consultant support and programme materials. £515 per participant if the full license is utilised.


Evaluation of the RCN Clinical Leadership Programme

This report looks at the evaluation of the RCN Clinical Leadership Programme and its impact on service improvements through contributions to the Pathway of Excellence programme, supported by NHS England East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
