Meet your new RCN Students Committee member

Faith Aidamoisa 1 May 2024

I am Faith Aidamoisa, new representative member for the Northern region on the RCN’s Students Committee.

I am also a third-year Adult Nursing student at Teesside University.

As someone who is passionate about advocacy, I am quite excited about being in this position where I get to represent you and ensure your unique voices are heard.

A brief history about my experiences and skills: I have a background in Human Physiology (BSc) and Public Health – Health Promotion (MSc), and have been involved in several community projects, designing and implementing strategic interventions to help improve individuals’ physical health, as well as help them make better, healthier choices. I am also quite passionate about volunteering for great causes and have been involved in quite a few volunteer activities including a community peer research project with the Centre for Health Promotion Research (CHPR), Leeds Beckett University (my alma mater) and more recently, as a delegate member of the CSW68 UN UK women 2024 delegation, advocating for the empowerment of every woman and girl child.

More information about myself and other members of the RCN Students Committee can be found here.

While I believe that I can advocate for the needs and concerns of many nursing students (including international nursing students within the UK) and be a catalyst for positive change, I cannot do this without you.

This is why I am encouraging you as a student nurse to get involved. There are lots of ways you could have your voice heard within the RCN student network and make an impact within your own student community.

Find out how you can get involved as an RCN student member here

Together, there is so much we can achieve. Please get in touch with me (faith.aidamoisa@reps.rcn.org.uk) if you would like to share how best you and other students within your network could be supported or what improvements could be made to engage/involve more RCN student members.

Warm greetings

Faith Aidamoisa
