I was delighted to join some of my amazing colleagues at to celebrate our brilliant Independent Health and Social Care sector team being recognised at the Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care (WAGS) Awards in London.

Some of the team were able to attend on the night, and were absolutely delighted to be presented with the award by Baroness Floella Benjamin. This award represents a huge achievement for a team that has been in place for a little over 2 years. The impact all of you are making to our members, and to the wider sector is enormous. Every day I am proud to work with you all, and to support the nursing profession.

Upon winning the award the judges commended the brilliant IHSC team at the RCN stating; Claire Sutton and team have shown exemplary leadership in promoting wellbeing at work across the independent health and social care sector. Their dedicated efforts support over 25,000 employers, advocating for safer staffing levels and better working conditions for RCN members. By establishing Independent Health and Social Care Lead Nurse roles, they continue to drive positive change, ensuring nurses receive the resources and support they need to thrive in their roles.

"This award represents a huge achievement for a team that has been in place for a little over 2 years."
