20 Jul 2023

Members from across the UK are encouraged to stand for election.

Lead Inspire Govern Nominations are now open for new members to be elected to the RCN Trade Union Committee (TUC) and Professional Nursing Committee (PNC).

We’re encouraging members from all areas of the nursing workforce to put themselves forward, so important decisions made by these committees accurately reflect the members we represent.

Joining the TUC will give you the chance to influence how the RCN develops as a modern, progressive trade union by working together with other passionate representatives from across the UK.

Nominations are open until 6 September for 7 seats on the TUC.

If you’re a student member, or a nurse member in the South East, South West, West Midlands or Yorkshire and the Humber regions, or in Scotland or Wales, you can put yourself forward to join the TUC starting your term of office on 1 January 2024.

Find out more about the TUC and how to nominate here.

The PNC oversees professional matters affecting nursing. From safe staffing, to education, public policy and research, the PNC is responsible the RCN’s position, strategy and direction.

Nominations are open until 1 September for 7 seats on the PNC.

If you're a student member, or a nurse member in the East Midlands, Eastern, London, North West or Northern regions, or Northern Ireland, you can put yourself forward to join the PNC starting your term of office on 1 January 2024.

Find out more about the PNC and nominations here.

Interested applicants need to fill in a nomination form, which includes sections where you can explain why you should be elected, and what skills and experiences you can bring to the role. You’ll also need to give the names of two other members who will support your nomination.
