Global majority nursing network

Members from global majority countries are welcome and encouraged to join the new Global Majority Nursing Network, a new group spanning both the Northern region and the Yorkshire and the Humber region and run by RCN Regional Development Officer Emma Phillips.

For more information on the new network, email emma.phillips@rcn.org.uk. Have a look at  the events tab above to browse our extensive list of events happening both virtually and physically throughout the year.

Prior to this new network, the Northern region had a long history of supporting internationally educated nursing staff through its Multicultural Nurses' Group, which celebrated its tenth anniversary with a conference in Newcastle during Black History Month 2018 (#BHM18).

Staff nurse Malerato Mosebi, who works in a care home, was a member of that group since its formation. “The group was informative, educational and supportive," she said. "It helped us to come up with practical solutions to any difficulties we have encountered. Socially, emotionally and professionally it has been really helpful.”

Meetings stopped when the group's lead, RCN Officer Janet MacLean, left the RCN.
