Research, Innovation and Digitalisation in Nursing Award

Research, Innovation and Digitalisation in Nursing Award

Nominations for this award are closed and will re-open in Spring 2025.

Nursing research, development and innovation provides the evidence on which nursing and midwifery practice is based and contributes to the continued development of nursing knowledge. Nursing research spans all age ranges and across the health spectrum from early years, to enhancing wellbeing and to end of life care.

Innovation and digital transformation are essential components of modern nursing to stimulate the quality of care for people in ways that promote a values-based approach, that consider patient-centred care and consider the wider aspects of cost-effectiveness, improvements in health and care, and creating systems and services that are more accessible and sustainable.

About the award: This award aims to recognise and reward quality in nursing and midwifery research. This may be of a preliminary nature e.g. pilot studies, clinical audit or service innovations but must demonstrate benefit. It recognises nurses and midwives who have improved the care of people through evidence-based innovations to deliver and / or influence change.
