RCN Welcomes Cardiff University Decision to Keep School of Nursing but Warns the University that it has much to do to Regain the Trust of the Nursing Profession
With the scale of cuts to student places and academic staff yet to be finalised, the RCN will be seeking guarantees that there remain enough academic staff to continue to deliver world class research and education and enough student places to provide the pipeline of nursing staff to NHS Wales.

Welfare cuts will undermine government's health mission, says RCN in response to Spring Statement
RCN General Secretary and Chief Executive Professor Nicola Ranger, said: ֱAs clinical professionals, nursing staff are clear that the governmentֱs health mission and plans to shift from treatment to prevention will be undermined by these cuts. Inequality and deprivation are directly linked to poor health. Measures that push vulnerable people into poverty, particularly those with disabilities and long-term conditions, will not only worsen both physical and mental health outcomes but pile more pressure on NHS services, costing more in the long run."
